Ongoing research shows Bovacillus™ from Chr. Hansen supports optimal health, productivity, and feed efficiency of dairy animals in every life stage, with more animals “simply being normal.”
Introduced in the U.S. in early 2021, the product combines select strains of Bacillus licheniformis and Bacillus subtilis. These strains have the capacity to directly influence nutrient digestibility and potentially decrease the burden of harmful bacteria.
Moreover, these spore-forming probiotic strains are resilient — durable and resistant to heat — able to withstand conventional feed processing, including steam-conditioned pelleting.

Probiotic effects of Bovacillus™ include inhibiting the growth of a broad range of pathogenic bacteria. A controlled in-vivo study of calves challenged with high doses of Clostridium perfringens Type A showed improved health.
